Who is in it to win it? Last night’s performances were definitely rockin’ as your Top 9 American Idol contestants performed a rock n roll song of their choice. Get your Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recap right here!
Wow, can you say amazing? Last night’s performances were totally rockin’! The contestants definitely cranked it up a notch, so much so, that I didn’t even know WHO to vote for! Pretty awesome stuff!
If I were to choose who earned best performance of the night, I would have to say the rootin’ tootin’ cowboy from North Carolina, Scotty McCreery, he totally rocked! With his rendition of Elvis Presley’s That’s All Right, “a new Scotty” emerged. Still sticking to his country roots, he sounded incredible with a bit of country twang and a King of Pop edge. I loved it…and I may have even gone country!
Pia Toscano hung up her usual ballad vocals for a fun, uptempo beat (as promised), with a Tina Turner performance featuring River Deep, Mountain High. And even though I have never heard this song before, it comes as no surprise, she not only wowed the judges, but myself, too. This girl can see my friends. Although, she MAY need to work on her dance moves a bit, I DO agree with Steven, she definitely killed it. Stomp it out, girlfriend!
And can I get a Grrr? Leave it to Haley, she roared with Janis Joplin’s Piece of My Heart last night. For being in the bottom three, I do think she has growled her way back into the competition. I totally agree with the judges, not only is she beautiful, but she IS a contender, and has proven herself as the competition gets hotter and hotter. What did you think of her performance? She did give us a piece of her heart, a pretty competitive chunk!
You can’t have rock n roll without a bit of bass! Casey brought back Credence Clearwater Revival with his own jazzy twist on the song Have You Ever Seen the Rain. With his big ole bass in hand, Abrams moved the judges with his cool, calm, and collected self again, he was totally in his element! His “revolutionary” performance shows that not only is he a singer, but a true musician at best. Way to go Casey and your bass!
For Paul McDonald, he may have just delivered his best performance to date. Last night, the Nashville native wooed us all with his Johnny Cash’s Prison Blues, and let me tell you, it rocked! He was feeling it, and so was I! Not only did J Lo think it was amazing, but Randy absolutely loved it! Go Team Paul!
For me, Stefano Langone is as good as gone. Yet another ballad, When a Man Loves a Woman, almost put me to sleep, as his usual boring ballads do. But for Jennifer Lopez, it’s baby baby baby! You have got to be kidding me. Apparently, Stefano can do no wrong in J Lo’s eyes, not to mention, he seems to be her eye candy this season…please!
