It is being reported that rapper Snoop Dogg has written a song especially for Prince William’s bachelor party! And in true Snoop fashion, it is going all out making sure everyone knows about it!
When British tabloids began reporting that Prince William supposedly wanted Snoop Dogg to perform at his stag party, the rapper jumped on the opportunity, reportedly writing a song just for William called “Wet”. Snoop has already been banned from Britain once before, so it’s easy to see why he wants to get his hands on a piece of the royal pie.
There’s some conflicting reports about whether or not Snoop Dogg has actually been invited to the royal bachelor party, but a press release on Allhiphop.com says he will be there, along with this quote from Snoop himself:
“When I heard the royal family wanted to have me perform in celebration of Prince William’s marriage, I knew I had to give them a little something, ’Wet’ is the perfect anthem for Prince William or any playa to get the club smokin’,” he said.
While Snoop is leading people to believe he wrote this song just for Prince William, some sources, including MTV, are saying the song was written and recorded and planned for his upcoming album “Doggumentary Music”, due out Spring 2011, before words of his invitation began circulation and it is merely a dedication.
I gotta say, the song doesn’t really sound all that royal, and makes no mention of the Prince or bachelor parties. I can’t even imagine they would let this song be played at a royal function, even if it is a raunchy stag party! Decide for yourself by listening to the song below!
Prince William and his long-term girlfriend, Kate Middleton, announced their engagement just a few short weeks ago, and already have a date and venue lined up. The royal duo will be tying the knot on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey in England. With such fast moving wedding plans, I suppose a bachelor party fit for a prince (reportedly featuring Snoop Dogg) isn’t too far off!
