An alleged Britney Spears Telephone demo has been debuted on the internet. While it has not officially been confirmed, upon listening, the track sure sounds as if it could be the pop princess. Check out Britney Spears’ version of Lady Gaga’s Telephone song here.
Britney Spears was initially offered to sing Lady GaGa’s now hit song Telephone, but she had rejected the offer after recording it and not using it. And too bad for her, GaGa made it a big fat hit. It has not been confirmed as to whether this is the actual demo as in the past there have been tracks out there digitally altered to sound like Spears, but Perez Hilton (a close friend of GaGa’s) is saying this is it. It was back in March of 2009 that Rodney Jerkins tweeted “Me and Lady Gaga wrote a smash for Britney called “Telephone” the label didnt out it on the lp (cirucs). It should be out right now!!! Its too hot!!!” But what ended up happening was Britney rejected the song and GaGa soon swiped it up for her own use. Smart woman!
While this particular track recorded was just a demo by Ms. Spears, many are saying that this track could have done fabulously well for Brit. However, it is pretty fabulous that Gaga decided to snag up the song because seriously could you not live without that mini-movie she created to go along with it?
Beyonce, who lends her voice to Gaga’s version, also makes the track less pop, a route that more than likely would have been Britney’s final version cut.
