Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher engaged! Apparently the stud NHL player put a ring on it and the two are getting married. Read about it below and check out the photos and a video about the couple.

Ottawa Senators hockey player announced that he is engaged to County music superstar Carrie Underwood. He made the announcement earlier today just before tonight’s Senators game against the Boston Bruins at Scoriabank Place. He is said to have asked her to marry him on Sunday, December 20, 2009 and she said yes. Underwood’s spokesperson, Jessie Schmidt, confirmed the engagement and said that a wedding date hasn’t been set.

The two have been dating for a little over a year.

Underwood has stated that this is only her second serious relationship. She told Elle Degeneres last November that it was the longest relationship she has had. The relationship has been long-distance, but Carrie told Ellen that she won’t move in with a man until he’s her husband.

Carrie wrote a little note to Mike in her latest album liner, Play On. #12 refers to his jersey number.

“Thank you #12,” she wrote about Fisher, referring to his jersey number. “You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way! I thank God for you every day. … xoxo, Carrie.”

Mike Fisher is 29-years-old and is one of the hockey leagues’ most eligible bachelors. Carrie Underwood is 26-years-old and one of Nashville’s hottest stars. She started her career on ‘American Idol’ and skyrocketed to super-stardom in country music. In the past, Underwood has been romantically linked to Dallas Cowboys football player Tony Romo and ‘Gossip Girl’ star Chase Crawford.

Now that Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are engaged, two of entertainments most attractive singles are being taken off the market. We wish them both many years of happiness!!
