Are you ready for some footbal?! The NFL announced on Thursday that “The Who” has been chosen to take the stage and rock the Super Bowl XLIV’s halftime show which will be on February 7, 2010 in Miami at the Dolphin Stadium.

As a biography, Emma Townshend was born in 1969 so her age is 40. She is a working journalist and lecturer. She is the oldest daughter of Pete Townshend of the famous band called “The Who”. She used to be a recording artist from 1995-1998 with a record deal with East West/Warner Group. In 1998, she released an album called “Winterland”. In 1999, the movie “The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns” featured her song “We Can Fly Away” as the theme. She attended King’s College, Cambridge, and studied history in science at Imperial College, London. In 2000, at Oxford University she educated for the Department of Continuing Education and lectures at City University, London. Of course it is a matter of opinion based on the genre of music you prefer. But The Who is known for its rockin’ tunes that we can assume they will jam like: Baba O’Riley, Won’t Get Fooled Again, Who Are You, and The Seeker.

The Who will join the ranks of entertainers that have performed before including last year’s “The Boss” Bruce Springstein and the E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and the unforgettable Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.
