E’yeah! What?! Rapper Lil Wayne film? Apparently, he has a documentary about himself called “The Carter” available now. Find out more outrageous details and see its premiere video here.
The New Orleans native and rapper Lil Wayne, legally named Dwayne Carter, Jr. 27, can be seen in his new documentary, “The Carter” after permitting a camera crew to follow his life in 2008. The MC filed a lawsuit against QD3 Entertainment to block the release of this film and it is available.
In April, the rapper filed a lawsuit against the exec’s at Quincy Jones III’s QD3 Entertainment for an alleged fraud and breach of contract. Lil Wayne accused QD3 of depicting the rapper as “scandalous” and is represented in a “negative light”.
Jones said of filming the star, “The more we filmed of him, the more we realized ‘This guy is a total rock star’ and I think to some degree that’s a breath of fresh air for hip hop because a lot of artists want to guard their images and they want to fit in to what going on already.”
It is said that the camera crew started rolling the tape approximately eight months prior to Lil Wayne’s release of his new album called, “The Carter III” which sold like one million copies and became the best-selling album of 2008.
Jones also added, “I think that allowed us to make a much more intimate movie,” stating that, “It also allows the audience to read between the lines and take away from the film what they are going to take away.”
In the documentary, the rapper can be seen smoking marijuana, drinking a cocktail mixed with soda and prescribed cough medicine and busting out lyrics regularly, living it up in the fame and fortune of the music industry.
MTV reports Lil Wayne’s efforts to have the documentary barred from releasing was possibly due to the MC not liking the final cut. However, the producers of the movie suggest that Lil Wayne did see the finished product and that the rapper was happy with its presentation.
Regardless, the flick will showcase one of the most talented rappers of all time. Leave us your thoughts of the film in the comment box and see a preview for the documentary of Lil Wayne here.
