The new album from Lifehouse - Smoke & Mirrors - comes as the fifth studio album from the American alternative band, for which a new release date and cover art has recently been revealed. It’s debut single “Halfway Gone” is currently placed at number 20 on Billboards Adult Pop chart. Read more below.
The band from Malibu originally came into the public eye with the hit song “Hanging by a Moment,” which was off of their No Name Face album. Almost nine years later they are at it once again with a new hit single, and a forthcoming album entitled Smoke & Mirrors.
How does the group conformed of Jason Wade (lead vocals, guitar), Ben Carey (guitar) Rick Woolstenhulme Jr. (drums), and Bryce Soderberg (Bass) manage to stay relevant after almost a decade? The answer is, by creating mass hits such as “You and Me,” “First Time,” and “Whatever It Takes”.
Let’s take a gander at a few lines of lyrics from the new Lifehouse single:
Talk, talk is cheap
Give me a word you can keep
Cause Im halfway gone and Im on way
And Im feeling, feelin feelin this way
Cause youre halfway in but dont take too long
Cause Im halfway gone, Im halfway gone
At this very moment I have “Halfway Gone” playing on YouTube, and I must confess that I’ve been bobbing my head to the beat the entire time that I’ve been writing this review. Meaning, I for one will be legally downloading the entire album upon its release on February 2, 2010.
