Wayne Newton’s last show could be drawing near. After fifty years in Sin City Las Vegas legend and singer is expressing that he may be leaning toward retirement. Find out more details and see a video here.
According to reports, it is said that Wayne Newton’s decision is based on whether he should continue with his love to sing or his longing to spend time with his 7 year-old daughter. However, this will not interfere with the start of his new show called “Once Before I Go” honoring his fifty years of performing, that kicked off at the Tropicana Las Vegas hotel and casino on Wednesday night.
Wayne Newton’s last show is said to have taken over two and a half months to write. The production includes a live account of the singer’s life and career with sharing his perceptions on his personal experiences.
Newton said this of the show, “It’s challenging to keep it entertaining,” adding, “And that was my first prerequisite.”
“Once Before I Go” will incorporate an exciting orchestra, photographs, and video with recent theater technology upgrades. The singer will also showcase his personal memorabilia that will be on display inside a store for his merchandise within the Tiffany Theater. There will be costumes, photos, and antiques from throughout his career.
The singer told his audience that it was difficult to choose songs to present from his long 50 years of singing. His career includes 165 records. He said that, “It would be impossible for me to pick songs from all of them even if I remembered them, which I don’t.” We can’t blame you there!
Wayne Newton’s last show can be seen in the Tiffany Theater at Las Vegas’ Tropicana hotel and casino Tuesday through Saturday at 8:30 p.m. You may purchase tickets from $79.99, $99.00, and the VIP package deal for $149.00 that includes a golden circle seat, a meet and greet with Mr. Las Vegas, himself, and possibly a photo taken with the star.

I was just in Vegaas last week and visited the Wayne Newton Store just outside the Trops Casino and had a wonderful conversation with a woman working there who new Wayne for years. I was going to get tickets to the show before we got to Vegas but noticed it was table seating and I have never found that comfortable to watch a show, You either end up with aa stiff neck or you turn your chair at an angle and your right next to the person at the next table doing the same thing. Would have loved to of seen the show if it weren’t for that.

I first saw Wayne Newton way, way back at the Shamrock Hotel, in Houston, TX, he was great then and is the greatest now. Love him, Kathleen, Lauren and Erin who has the same birthday as I do, July 25th. I have seen Wayne perform in Las Vegas numerous, numerous times,Branson, MO, Houston, TX, Dallas, TX, Longview, TX, LA. Wayne will always be Mr. Las Vegas in my eyes and one of the greatest performers I have ever, ever had the priviledge to watch on stage. What ever decision he makes about retirement is his choice and I for one will abide by it. He deserves to get to enjoy his family, his ranch and horses. MAY GOD BLESS YOU WAYNE AND FAMILY!!!!
LOVE YOU GUYS, SHIRLEY & ALAN FOREST
