X-Factor newcomer Danyl Johnson is the talk of the ‘net, as the 27-year-old teacher wowed the judges with his X-Factor audition, performing the Beatles’ classic “With a Little Help From My Friends”. Read more about this rising star plus see video below.
Actually, Danyl Johnson is not a newcomer to X-Factor. He had previously auditioned for the British competition three years ago.
Johnson did not even get to sing for the judges back when he auditioned in 2006; a friend said, “He performed solo in front of some of the producers but just didn’t choose the right song on the day”.
Johnson, who walked on stage dressed simply in cargo shorts and sneakers, began his soulful rendition of the Beatles’ classic, “With a Little Help From My Friends” and urged the crowd to wave their hands in unison. Soon they were cheering for the 27-year-old teacher who hails from Reading, England.
Danyl, who teaches at Berks in Reading, did not tell his students that he was auditioning for the show, which is now in its sixth season. I’m sure many of his students were surprised to see him on ITV1 Saturday night.
The judges, of course, were blown away with his performance.
Cheryl Cole said, “You are a natural performer and I would take you in my category any day.”
Louis Walsh said, “Thank God you came in.”
Johnson even impressed Simon Cowell:
“I have been doing this for eight or nine years. Danyl, that was single-handedly the best first audition I have ever heard.”
Now Johnson has been dubbed the next “Susan Boyle”, but can he come out victorious rather than take second place as Boyle did in Britain’s Got Talent? Leave me your comments below. Check out X-Factor contestant Danyl Johnson’s audition video below.
