Country duo Brooks & Dunn have called it quits after 20 years. The break up was announced on their website today. See more pictures and a Brooks & Dunn music video here.
It is no rumor. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn officially announced their plan to go their own ways by posting a message on their website. According to www.brooks-dunn.com:
“After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it’s time call it a day. This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed…. We owe it all
to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don’t believe them, it’s just time.”
The band plans to release a greatest hits album on September 8th, 2009. Some of their chart toppers include “Red Dirt Road,” “My Maria,” and “Boot Scootin’ Boogie.” They will also go on tour one last time with The Last Rodeo Tour to kick off in 2010. The dates for the tour have yet to be announced.

At least Brooks and Dunn are going out while still on top. They’ll be missed on the touring circuit.
