The five-time Grammy Award winning superstar drew notice with the original music video. Brett Ratner directed the original video as well as the new one which features some of the footage of the original, which was shot on location in New York City at the Plaza Hotel.
Now in the Mariah Carey Obsessed remix video with Gucci Mane appearing, there are strong visual parallels to the original video which saw the singer portraying three characters (including an Eminem appearing male); this time Gucci Mane appears in the video alongside Mariah Carey in the hotel scenes, and there are only passing glimpses of the male characters.
Mariah Carey Obsessed remix lyrics and music were produced by The-Dream and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart with additional lyrics from Gucci Mane.
As with the original, the Mariah Carey Obsessed remix lyrics continue to draw notice and speculation that they refer to Eminem.
The highly anticipated album, which reportedly will feature production from James “Big Jim” Wright and Timbaland, Jermaine Dupri and Brian Michael Cox, has had its release date pushed back from the original August 25, 2009. As Singers Room reports, major retailers including Amazon.com are revealing a September 15, 2009 release date. The article also reports Mariah Carey’s Tweet about the album:

Mariah Carey reportedly will appear on America’s Got Talent on August 5, 2009, the NBC reality TV talent show of which her husband, Nick Cannon is the host.
