Here are the Daughtry Today Show video and photos. Chris Daughtry and his band performed live on the Today Show as part of the Summer Concert series on July 14, 2009 on the same day as the release of their sophomore studio album Leave This Town.
Chris Daughtry and his band performed their signature hit Home as well as No Surprise, lead single from the newly released album, Leave This Town, live before an enthusiastic crowd in New York City at Rockefeller Center.
Daughtry No Surprise lyrics and music were co-written by Chris Daughtry and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger. It had its debut performance earlier this year on the show that made Chris Daughtry a star, American Idol. He was the fourth place finalist on Season 5.
Daughtry is comprised of Josh Paul, Joey Barnes, Brian Craddock and Josh Steely along with frontman Chris Daughtry. The multi-platinum Daughtry self-titled debut album was the best selling album of 2007 with sales of more than 4,422,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Regarding the new album, Chris Daughtry said in a brief interview with Matt Lauer, “We’re so happy. We put a lot of work into it. We’re very proud of it. We were able to take all the time in the world to make it and all these fans were patient in the process, and the day has come.”
