The Rascal Flatts Today Show video reveals the multi-platinum selling country-pop music stars performing before a spirited and enthusiastic crowd in New York City.
Rascal Flatts performed their new single Summer Nights from the new album, along with Me and My Gang. The trio is comprised of Gary LeVox (lead vocalist), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar, vocals).
During the brief Today Show interview, Matt Lauer presented the group with a special plaque in honor of their achievements, which include 20 million in record sales and their seven consecutive of being voted Group of the Year by the Academy of Country Music. Additionally, a birthday cake was brought out and the audience joined in singing Happy Birthday to lead singer Gary LeVox, as July 10 is his 39th birthday.
The band is presently on the Rascal Flatts American Living Unstoppable Tour with supporting act Darius Rucker (formerly of Hootie & the Blowfish). The tour is in support of the album which, released in April 2009, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was the trio’s fifth consecutive No. 1 debut on the chart, as they have consistently had pop music crossover success.
