Michael Jackson may have left us physically with his shocking death on June 25, 2009, but despite his physical absence, we are left with his legacy and the hits. The Michael Jackson Greatest hits included that of the Michael Jackson Thriller video, one of Jackson’s most memorable musical moments. Read more and see photos and video here.
Part of Michael Jackson’s legacy will be not only his vocals, but his dance moves. “Thriller” was undoubtedly one of the most memorable moments Jackson has created and included dance moves that many tried to emulate. The single was a hit in 1984, reaching the number four spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
On February 20, 2006, the single and the 14-minute video was released as part of the Visionary: The Video Singles package. The video has been referred to as one of the greatest music videos of all time and a true Jackson signature song. Many parodies and imitations of the song and video were created, but nothing will ever compare to the original Michael Jackson Thriller video.
In fact, the Thriller video was the most expensive video of its time, with a production cost of a half million dollars. The Guinness World Records have listed the video as the “most successful music video”, selling over 9 million units.
