It has been nearly seven years since his last studio album, but singer Chris Isaak is back in the limelight with a new album, concert series and television show. His newest single from Mr Lucky was just released with a new video. See photos, and the new video from Chris Isaak here.
The new single, You Don’t Cry Like I Do, follows Isaak’s winning formula of love lost and longing, soaring vocals, with a similar sound to his big hit Wicked Game that came out in in the early 90s.
He may not have been recording until recently, but Chris Isaak is always on tour. Luckily for all of his fans, he has just released the tour dates for his the concert series promoting his new CD Mr Lucky. Not only did Chris write all of the music for Mr Lucky, but he also did all of the artwork that appears on the liner notes.
On singing and writing his own music for the album he had this to say:
“I think the concept for the album is always the same, write all the songs you can, pick the best ones, and then when you record them listen and see if they tell you what the album is about. And they always do,” he said.
“It doesn’t work every time but when it does work, it feels like you are doing a magic trick,”
He also made a recent appearance at the MTV Movie awards. Joining country singer, LeAnn Rimes, and Oscar winning actor, Forest Whitaker, the trio sang a medley of the host, Andy Samberg’s, Saturday Night Live hits including, Jizz In My Pants, I’m on a Boat, and D*ck in a Box.
Chris is also busy with his new music interview show The Chris Isaak Hour for the Biography Channel.
