American Idol runner up Adam Lambert is Queen frontman? See video, photos and find out more here about the latest speculation of what career moves the spectacular singer may be making.
The runner up Adam Lambert is renown for his brilliant talent, vocal prowess, theatricality as well as the edginess of black nail polish and guyliner he brought to the season 8 of American Idol and praised no less by winner Kris Allen who upon winning famously said, “Adam deserves this.”
During the American Idol finale, one of the high points of the night was the duet Adam Lambert and Kris Allen performed with legendary rock band Queen on their signature hit ‘We Are The Champions.’ (You can see the Kris Allen Adam Lambert Queen video below.) This performance immediately led to rumor and speculation and the obviously question, Adam Lambert Queen frontman?
In an exclusive e-mail interview with Rolling Stone, Queen guitarist Brian May set the record straight as to whether there was truth to the rumor that the band had already made the Adam Lambert Queen frontman job offer.
“Amongst all that furor, there wasn’t really a quiet moment to talk…“But [drummer Roger Taylor] and I are definitely hoping to have a meaningful conversation with him at some point. It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam. That is one amazing instrument he has there.”
The legendary band Queen, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, reunited in 2004 ago with a new frontman, Paul Rodgers of Bad Company. The reformed band was known as Queen + Paul Rodgers. However the four-year partnership with Rogers has recently ended. It is the original Queen frontman, the late Freddie Mercury, to whom the Idol runner up has sometimes been compared and leading to speculation of a future Adam Lambert Queen frontman. The band is known for signature hits, including ‘We Are the Champions,’ ‘We Will Rock You,’ “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Radio Ga Ga.’
Brian May went on to praise both winner and runner up.
“Both those boys are well worthy of big success. So it’s pointless for someone like me to stand on the sidelines jeering. I’m confident Adam will make great use of this wonderful opportunity. I hope I’m there to see it.”
For his part Adam Lambert has not stated publicly what his career plans are.

I would be heartbroken if Adam joined QUEEN. To work with them on some tracks — great. But to become a permanent fixture with them, that would be a shame. Adam has way too much versatility to go there now. I hope he will do something on his own where he can really showcase all of his talents. Just hooking up with QUEEN would be such a letdown.

Adam would be a great addition to “Queen” ! But I would hope he would be able to do his own thing, be able to release his own album if he wanted to!

He should do a duet with Cyndi Lauper! She was so cute on AI …and her voice just keeps getting better and better!

Adam is so good! He would give Queen (whom I love) a big shot in the arm! I’d love to see that happen as long as Adam is free to do other things. Too many fans of Adams want to see him to limit his work. GO ADAM!

I like Adam Lambert a lot. I am a huge Queen fan, but for Brian May & Co to even consider having Freedie be replaced by Adam would be shameful and will tarnish the memory of the one and only QUEEN FRONT MAN…long live Fredun Balsara..the king of modern Rock

@Lizzy
No Adam hooking up with whats left of Queen would be a letdown but not in the way your thinking.
Anyway as long as I still have a chance to hear whats left of Queen play live in concert I frankly could care less. Then again this is just random rumor wondering along the lines of people wondering if the final results were rigged because Adam was gay so anything should be taken with a grain of salt.

While I love Queen, I think it would be a big mistake for Adam. People would always be comparing him to Freddy and there really is no comparison to make. Adam needs a big powerful (unknown) band behind him and just name the whole thing “ADAM”. Make your own music Adam. The world awaits you and your style alone. We’re ready. Now…frickin’ rock us!

It would be great if Adam just did a guest apperance, Adam is Adam and he will always stand out ,he has such a powerful identity all on his own, and he needs to express that wonderful creativity that is in his soul. We just got a taste of it on AI- now that Adam can really fly to the stratosphere we are all in for the ride of our lives!! Love you Adam!!

I would love to see Adam Lambert performing songs with Queen as well as doing some singles with that group. BUT, I would hope Adam Lambert doesn’t sign on to play only Queen and nothing else for like years and years. ADAM LAMBERT can do a whole heck of a lot more than just Queen. He needs to be on Twilight for starters. He should do one of his own CDs and then yes please do songs with KISS, QUEEN and SLASH! I can’t wait to see him really be him and sing and dance. I can’t wait to see him model. Can you say Calvin Klein anyone!!!!!
