American Idol season 8 is coming to an end. Last week Allison Iraheta was sent home leaving three finalists Adam Lambert, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen who each performed two songs, a judges’ choice and a finalist’s choice on the preceding performance night.
On May 13 results night Danny Gokey was sent home, leaving the American Idol Top 2 Adam Lambert and Kris Allen as the American Idol finalists.
The Katy Perry American Idol performance on Top 3 results night is one of two; also appearing on the Idol stage will be season 6 American Idol winner Jordin Sparks performing her new single ‘Battlefield.’
‘Waking Up in Vegas’ is the fifth single from the 24-year-old Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s platinum selling debut studio album, One Of The Boys, which has spawned her signature hit singles, I Kissed A Girl and Hot N Cold which have topped charts around the world.
The pop star from Santa Barbara, California and daughter of two pastors is at work on her sophomore studio album, which she says will be different from her debut album and its breakthrough lead single, Ur So Gay that first gave her notoriety.
“[Boys] was like my ‘Dear Diary’ album, from when I was like 17 to 23. … It was my perspective then, and it was so widespread, and some of the things that really meant a lot to me at 17, you know, they change. They evolve,” she said. “So this record will be a very present record for me. It will be me now. It won’t take five years — hopefully. It will be Katy Perry as a young, 25-year-old woman.”

OK so AMAZING, man much love goes out to Katy. I have so much respect for her to. She is so freakin amazing, on my phone I got txt from twitter from markus saying there will be a suprise, her cape thing with adams name on it was so cool. Her Elvis romper was INSANE in a good way.

I think Katy Perry so called performance on American Idol was the worst of anything I have ever seen or heard. I put her on mute. Her Cape outfit looked like she was overdressed for an exercise class.
