Alternative rockers, Muse, are back to work in the studio! The trio have been hard at work on their fifth studio album. Check out photos and video after the jump.

Great news for Muse fans around the globe! The English rockers are working on their fifth upcoming album. The band, who have been together since 1994, have been working on their new tracks in their Italy studio. Although they do plan to take a two week break soon they have managed to piece together a few songs with plans to continue when they return.

Drummer Dominic Howard recently reported – “We’re working on new stuff and we’re gonna have a couple of weeks off and then in about two weeks time we’re back out to Italy to start writing again. We’ve already done a few tracks and it sounds great so we’re just working to the future.”

It has also been reported that the fifth, still untitled, album by Muse does not have a solid concept behind it. Just recently Muse’s frontman, Matt Bellamy, told NME – “It may just be albums, but it may be a stream of singles, or it may just be one 50-minute symphony, do you know what I mean? Who knows?”

“We’ve just started writing songs for the new album, whatever it’s going to be, you know?” he said. “It’s going great, we just started. We’re right at the tip at the moment and I think the point is that we’ve been on the road for so long… It’s really about getting back together and getting the ball rolling again and seeing whether it’ll roll,” said Dom Howard.

Muse has yet to announce a release date for their upcoming album.

The sister of Beyonce Knowles, Solange, doesn’t want to be associated with her sister’s fame or her brother-in-law’s for that matter!

Solange Knowles’ interview on Kvvu, a Las Vegas news show, went sour when the news anchor referred to her famous relatives during Solange’s introduction onto the live broadcast! The younger Knowles became visibly insulted and told the anchor live on air that she was “unprofessional”!

“I just have to say that wasn’t a very professional introduction before. Please don’t tie me in with my family and questions about my brother-in-law,” said Solange.

The anchor then went on to apologize before getting right down to business in an effort to circumvent such an embarrassing situation. After that who could focus on the fact that Solange was their to promote her upcoming album?!

Stephenie Meyer & Jack Mannequin

It’s not everyday that a great writer signs on to direct a music video. Nonetheless devoted fans of Stephenie Meyer and Jack Mannequin will be given just what they need to feed their insatiable appetites.

Meyer, the latest author to acquire an ever growing populace of diehard fans similar to the days of Treky fanatics, appears to share a love for music as much as writing. So who better to lend an artistic eye to Jack Mannequin’s upcoming video?

“She seems genuinely enthusiastic about it. She’s in the middle of editing her film right now, so I guess the implication is that she’s excited because she’s taking time away from her baby to make it,” McMahon laughed. “But, like I said, I’m most excited because, when I was making this album, I wanted to find someone who was really talented and get them to write a treatment and just leave it alone and let it fly. And that’s exactly what we’re doing here.”

Meyer apparently popped into Jack Mannequin’s head when it came time to discuss just how the band, who formed back in 2004, would shoot the video for their track “Resolution”, and just not any video. Mannequin’s vision is calling for something unique and from a world like the one Meyer’s has created in her novels, minus the thirsty golden eyed vampires.

“Yeah, there are no vampires in the treatment. There may be a mermaid, but I’m not sure. I don’t want to give away too much, because we’re letting [Meyer] run with her vision. … I mean, I will say there’s a good amount of water in the video and … what else can I say,” Mannequin announced.

So far the only scoop released regarding just what these two brilliant minds will create has been scarce. Mannequin recently made reference to a possible mermaid and a lot of water! Who really cares when you come right down to it?! Meyer and Mannequin are sure to make our wait well worth it!

Jack Mannequin’s new album, titled “The Glass Passenger”, is due out in stores on September 30th.

Ladiesman, Justin Timberlake, who was recently said to be reuniting with his former flame, Britney Spears, recently divulged that he doesn’t like the sound of his own voice! The voice that has made him millions!

J.T. said “It’s painful for me to either watch or listen to myself. But even when you’re not fully satisfied with the outcome, that’s what makes you hungry. But there is gratification in the fact that you a. make people smile, b. make people dance, c. make people laugh or d. make people make babies.”

The Sexy Back singer and executive producer of “My Problem with Women”, due out this Fall, also shared a little about his experience behind the camera. “Acting is a totally different process than music. Music is a study in the romanticizing of human behavior,” he explained. “I have found that acting is like the un-romanticizing, that’s not a word, it is the opposite of the romantics of human behavior.”

I don’t think he’ll be hearing many complaints from the ladies!

Nicollette Sheridan has made a career out of playing naughty, saucy, sexy ladies on first Knott’s Landing and lately Desperate Housewives. Now naughty Nicollette might be desperate, but she’s no housewife. She and her long time lover, singer Michael Bolton, have broken off their engagement.

They say that their decision to break-up is amicable. I don’t know about you, but I don’t ever believe those ‘we are amicably separating’ stories. Why are you breaking up if you get along so well? Naw, its never fun.

The two started dating in 1992 right after Nicollette divorced her Hollywood actor Harry Hamlin of L.A. Law. They had married in 1991 and divorced in 1992. She and Bolton stayed together for about five years and then broke up in 1997. They stayed apart for about 8 years and then started seeing each other again in 2005. They announced they were engaged in 2006 and everything seemed just wonderful since then.

Now, all of the sudden and without any warning they have announced they are splitting. Who knows, maybe they’ll get back together again. They seem to do that, after all.

Michael Bolton is 55 years old and Nicollette Sheridan is 44 years old. Michael has three daughters from his 15 year marriage to Maureen McGuire.

He has received two Grammy awards in 1989 and 1991. He has sold more than 53 million copies of his albums over the years. He soft rock hits have included songs like ‘Love Is a Wonderful Thing’ and ‘Time, Love and Tenderness’. He also recorded, ‘Said I Loved You but I Lied’. I hope that one wasn’t for Sheridan.

Heidi Montag has released her new video for her new single, Overdosin’. I just watched it and now I feel like I’m overdosing on big hair and lycra. She is apparently getting in touch with her inner 1980s aerobics instructor and channeling Jane Fonda ‘feeling the burn’. It is just so 80s.

But hey, if you are into shapely toned legs covered in leggings and hard bodies covered in form fitting brightly colored lycra gyrating all over a mat on the floor, this might be just the music video for you.

The new video has been released on the Heidi Montag official website. I’m trying to figure out if its kinda cute or just completely cheesy. Is it funny or absurd? I just can’t make up my mind. But then, I’m not a major fan of hers anyway, so my opinion on it might be a little jaded.

The Veronicas released their latest album today titled “Hook Me Up”. Check out their photos with video after the jump.

Have you heard of The Veronicas? If you haven’t yet I’m sure you will. The identical twins, Jessica and Lisa Origliasso, have just released their new album as well as news that they will tour with The Jonas Brothers at the end of this month.

The sisters who formed their pop group back in 2005 have just released their latest album today titled “Hook Me Up”. Their second album has already managed to gain the ladies double-platinum status back home in Brisbane, Australia.

Jessica Origliasso talked about recording the sophmore album – “It was really great. Toby works on a simplified set-up on his Mac computer. It takes all the pressure out of being in a recording studio. We were able to take our time and get it right and not stress about time ticking.”

“Hook Me Up” is a collection of electro pop songs featuring their popular single, “Untouched”, which The Veronicas performed earlier this month on MTV’s TRL. “Hook me Up” was produced with the help of several talented songwriters who have worked with stars like Madonna, Christina Aguilera and Fergie.

“It’s been more than two years since we wrote the first record so our musical tastes have changed a bit. We’ve been living in Los Angeles where we got into the whole electro-pop rock scene. When it came time to write the new album, we were really inspired by it musically”, Lisa explained.

Erin McCarley

Universal Republic Records has signed on their latest contribution to the pop world. Erin McCarley is a new artist with a great voice and music to match. Talented and heartbreakingly honest, McCarley is pretty upfront about her feelings “It’s hard for me to write about being happy,” McCarley admits. “I don’t prefer being sad, but it’s a real spot for me. If you met me, I’m not this dark, sulking person, though I’m not bubbly by any means, either. I guess it comes down to the fact that I’m not afraid of being sad.” Check her out.

She’s only in her twenties and already exudes an old soul attitude. Erin McCarley grew up in the burbs of Dallas in what sounds like a June Cleaver household. Growing up in such a solid family unit you would think McCarley would be pretty content. Instead the artist says “It kind of gave me an unrealistic view of everything.” The unrealistic which seems to have added a dose of wisdom to her lyrics.

Since her childhood in Garland McCarley has laid her roots in San Diego for a time selling clothes in a boutique. Around that time the pop singer began writing her own songs and cites Fiona Apple and Spoon as her creative muses.

“Most nights I’d end up with an unfinished song. But when the day would come when all the pieces would align, and I’d know this is a song for people to hear, there is no better release in the world.

Since then McCarley has moved to Nashville, now her current home, were she writes and sings. McCarley debut album, Love, Save the Empty, is due out this October.
