The track, titled Another Way to Die, has the White Stripes frontman playing the drums on the song. White wrote the theme as well.

Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara said:

‘We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artistes.’

The duet of Alicia Keys and White marks the first time a pair has recorded a Bond theme. It was rumored that Bleeding Love songstress Leona Lewis and Welsh singer Duffy were in the running to record the 007 theme as well.

Other musicians who have recorded the title track for the 007 films include such notables as Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Madonna and Sheryl Crow. Quantum of Solace will once again feature Daniel Craig as James Bond, with Gemma Arterton and Olga Kurylenko playing Bond girls.

The Killers New Album

The Killers

The Killers, also known as the “Best British band to come out of America”, performed for their fans at the Highline Ballroom in New York this week. The rockband who have been absent from the music scene for months have been working on a new album. Together since their debut album “Hot Fuss” hit airwaves in 2002, the rockers also treated music fans to two of their two newest tracks, “Spaceman” and “Neon Tiger”.

“We’ve got some new songs, but there’s a long way to go before they’re ready for an album,” bassist, Mark Stoermer said at the time. “So far, they’re different than Sam’s Town, but nothing that we write surprises me. Some are a bit stripped down for us — whatever that means. Some have the vibe of [Jacques Lu Cont's] ‘Thin White Duke Remix’ of ‘Mr. Brightside.’ We talk about what we want for the album, but inevitably, it always gets away from us.”

After dropping their former manager in the past year and signing on with Stuart Price, the band is reportedly putting the finishing touches on their new album due out sometime this November. Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers, says the album does not officially have a concept yet.

Legendary rockers, the Rolling Stones, have parted ways with their record label, EMI, after a business relationship that lasted more than twenty years. Although the English rockers had nothing negative to say upon their departure, speculation that EMI’s stability began to falter after the company recently disappointed Coldplay and also failed to resign Radiohead. EMI did undergo a change last year which could be the factor for the Rolling Stones leave, the company was bought out by private equity firm Terra Firma.

Moving forward, the Rolling Stones did release a statement regarding their new business relationship with Universal saying “Universal are forward thinking, creative and hands-on music people. We really look forward to working with them.” Their new record label will also hold the rights to the bands older songs as well as the new.

The business partnership also looks to be sending the Rolling Stones in the right direction in terms of the future. They will “begin planning an unprecedented, long-term campaign to reposition the Rolling Stones’ entire catalog for the digital age.”

After making a comeback in 2005 the boys from Buckcherry have been hard at work on their fourth album, titled “Black Butterfly”. The full album isn’t due out until September 16th but their first single “Too Drunk” has supposedly leaked to the net! Publicity stunt? The band did however make a statement about the incident saying “Honestly, we hate it when this s*** happens, because we want our FANS to have any new songs first.” Who knows but the track is making it’s rounds and sounds pretty good. Buckcherry also managed to shoot a video for the leaked single in a flash!

Regarding the inspiration behind the track, front man and lead vocalist Josh Todd explains “When I started getting into music, you know, it was all house parties,” he said. “We would get kegs and we would play in a living room of a house, and it just became just craziness. And so ‘Too Drunk…’ tells the story of, you know, how we rolled as kids, you know, and I just thought it was funny to throw on that tag, ‘Too Drunk to F***’, ’cause sometimes that was the case.”

Rapper Lil Wayne is currently embroiled in a hefty lawsuit! He has been accused by Abkco Music of copyright infringement! The former Hot Boys singer reportedly used similar lyrics and the same melody for his track “Playing With Fire” which sounds the same as the Rolling Stones song, “Play With Fire”.

He is also being sued for using “explicit, sexist and offensive language” in the song which reportedly could ruin the band’s reputation by association. Abkco, who owns the rights to the song by the Rolling Stones, is suing the Lollipop rapper for an undisclosed amount of money. A spokesperson on behalf of Lil Wayne has yet to comment on the matter.

In other Lil Wayne news, the New Orleans native will perform at the 2008 Voodoo Experience concert alongside his former Hot Boys clan members, Juvenile, Turk, and B.G.

Whitney Houston

The “Queen of the Night”, Whitney Houston, is back and has a new single featuring Akon. The track titled “Like I Never Left”, has leaked onto the internet and has managed to stir some excitement with her fanbase since her departure from the music world. Signed on with Arista Records, the rehabbed star, who fell from the spotlight in the early 2000′s due to her dangerous drug use and eating disorder, has finally landed on her feet and has scored herself a $100 million dollar record deal with the record label.

“First of all, let’s get one thing straight. Crack is cheap. I make too much money to ever smoke crack. Let’s get that straight. Okay? We don’t do crack. We don’t do that. Crack is wack”, Houston once said in an interview.

Formally holding a church girl image, Whitney Houston had since gone on to successfully reclaim a normal life by cleaning up some major personal problems, which reportedly stemmed from her unhealthy marriage to Bobby Brown. Houston has since divorced the New Edition star and has full custody of their daughter. She has also managed to kick her drug habit. Check out her latest single “Like I Never Left” featuring Akon below.

Whitney Houston’s new album is slated to release on November 10th.

Backstreet Boys Working On New Album

Backstreet Boys

Former teen hearthrobs, the Backstreet Boys, who made girls world wide scream and cry are working on a new album. The group, which now consists of Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and A. J. McLean are currently busy traveling and performing on their Unbreakable World tour, but hope to get back into the studio this spring.

“We’re looking at getting back into the studio quite quickly,” says Dorough. “We want to hopefully have something ready to go or at least be heavily into it by the end of the year and have something out towards the beginning of next year.”

The group made it big in 1997 with their first self titled U.S. album. The most profitable boy band in history, together they have struggled through lawsuits with their former manager, health issues as well as losing member, Kevin Richardson, who decided to leave to pursue his family goals.

Now the foursome, who reunited in 2005, are not only working on their new album but their solo careers as well. Howie Dorough is working on a Latin record and A.J. McLean is working on a pop album. Both members have yet to confirm a release date. Their first priority is said to be with the band.

“It’s a matter of timing, when we feel each of us wants our record to come out so that we’re not competing with each other or taking time away that we could be working … as a group.”

Pink: So What Released

Pink’s New Single, So What, has been released. Listen to “So What” after the jump.

We haven’t seen the “Stupid Girls” singer since photos surfaced of her kissing an unknown female companion after her divorce to Carey Hart, but Pink is still around. And she’s getting ready to return to the music world. Since her absence the opinionated artist, who’s real name is Alecia Moore, has been hard at work on her upcoming creation.

The album, still untitled, will hit shelves on October 28th of this year. Not much is known regarding the particulars of Pink’s new album except for a single ready to be released on August 18th, “So What”. Sounds a little like the twenty-eight year old might be sticking to her normal rebellious tough girl tracks. The new album also reunites Pink with Max Martin, the pair worked together previously on her 2006 LP, “I’m Not Dead”.
