From songwriting to performing to integrating her musical inspiration into her modeling career, Wendy Starland pushes her passion into everything she does. It is that very passion and keen eye for talent that Wendy used to discover Lady Gaga. Yes, Starland is responsible for molding Stephanie Germotta into a star. But it is not just that she is known for. Not only was Wendy Starland honored by The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame, but she was also named as VH1′s Best Emerging Artists. In addition she has a strong tour resume including performing with everyone from Lady GaGa & Mike Posner, to the Foo Fighters. I had a chance to chat with Starland about her Gaga discovery and working with the pop star, the success she’s achieved so far and more!
The 90′s were full of corny videos and just pure awesomeness. One of my favorite groups from the 90′s era was Wilson Phillips, comprised of Carnie Wilson, Wendy Wilson and Chynna Phillips. Their songs were catchy, emotional and their harmonies consisted of pure high-pitched fabulousness. Call him a perfect cast. Call him ‘damn lucky’ for being able to plant a big fat passionate kiss on Katy Perry’s lips. Just call him Shaun Ross. Many people are just being introduced to Mr. Ross as Katy Perry’s lover in her E.T. video, but Shaun is more than just a video love interest with a tight behind. You may not have heard his name before, but prepare to hear his name again. Before Shaun Ross was cast to play Katy Perry’s love interest (a ‘job’ any man could only dream of snagging up), Mr. Ross was strutting his stuff on runways and posing for magazine spreads. Ross has made quite the name for himself in the fashion industry with his unique look and background. From first look, Ross gives off a fierce glow that exudes confidence. But beneath the surface is a man who has been through hell to get to where he is. Not only was the albino-born African American bullied for looking different, he felt misfit amongst his own cultural community. But through it all, he strives for excellence, appreciates his differences and is not looking back! I got a chance to chat with Mr. Ross about the creation of the E.T. video and most importantly, what it was like to kiss Katy Perry.
With Youtube sensation Rebecca Black going viral with her song “Friday,” it got me thinking ‘what are the silliest songs of all time?’ It turns out Black’s Friday doesn’t even crack the top 5!

For this week’s 90′s Rewind, we roll back to 1992 to a little ditty that topped the Billboard Hot 100 and reigned supreme for seven weeks! It was one of those catchy songs that one wouldn’t expect to reach number one and for the length of time that it did. Snow’s Informer gave inspiration to aspiring white rappers worldwide. Check it out and get your booty shake on. This song will take you way back to the days of corny sunglasses and suspenders and skirts.
She took a chance on a reality show to show off her musical talent and to get noticed and it was a fabulous move for Kelli Tomashoff. The vivacious and strong willed teenager is moving on from Bravo TV’s NYC Prep and into the music scene. I got the chance to chat with Kelli about her show and the transition to the music scene.
