Can I address the elephant in the room before we get started? Who is Kara DioGuardi and how did she end up as a judge on American Idol? The first person to answer that question for me will get a text message from me telling you how great you are. What a prize, eh?

Ok, so Kara wants to give our favorite pop star a hug because she feels sad for Heidi. I want to get Heidi in an underground hideaway program for women who need to leave their abusive husbands. Not that Spencer is abusive in anyway unless you consider his flesh colored goatee abusive to the entire human race. And really, I find it more offensive for us as a species than I do abusive.

John Mayer admits in a recent article to Rolling Stone that he still isn’t over Jennifer Aniston and he is having a hard time moving on from that relationship. He also admits that his sex life isn’t all what everyone probably thinks it is. And of course, he wishes that he could just find “the one.”

In the interest of full disclosure, I do not like John Mayer. I do not like the way he looks. I do not like the way sings. I do not, in fact, like any of his songs. I for one hated when my sweet, awesome, wonderful Jennifer starting hooking up with him. I never understood that one, did you?

On tonight’s American Idol, our favorite High Schooler from Glee, Kristin Chenoweth will be the guest judge. What? She isn’t your favorite High Schooler from Glee? You like Finn don‘t you? I’m more a Quinn fan myself. Wait. I’m getting off the subject.

I bet you are asking “What does that chick from Glee. Or Wait? Wasn’t she on that show Pushing Daisies? Have to do with American Idol?

As I watched tonight’s American Idol, I got sidetracked doing all kinds of other things: cleaning up the kitchen, folding laundry, checking out my feed reader. Then I had a thought that so many before me have had, “Has American Idol lost its oomph since Paula is gone?”
